Robert W. "Tex" Randolph Jr., 54, died Friday, March 5, 1999, at Barberton Citizens Hospital after a lengthly illness.
Mr. Randolph was born in San Antonio, Texas, and was a lifelong resident of Wadsworth. He was employed with the City of Wadsworth for 27 years as an inspector in the Egineering Dpartment, and then as Park Superintendent, retiring in 1989. Mr Randolph was a member of the Wadsworth United Methodist Church, Lodge 385 F & AM, Chapter 102 O.E.S. and formerly the Shade Tree Commission and the ADA Committee for the City of Wadsworth. He was also a past Little League Commissioner, an All Sports Booster and an avid Beanie Baby Collector.
Mr Randolph will be truly missed by his wife, Sandy (nee Noe); sons and daughter-in-laws, Tim of Akron, Bart and Becky of Wadsworth, Matt of Wadsworth, Rex and Holly of Rittman; grandchildren, Bart II and Brandon; mother, Mildred; and sister, Pam Lawson, both of Wadsworth; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by father, Robert W. Sr.
The family will receive friends Tuesday 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at the Hilliard Cox Mullaney Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman Street, Wadsworth, where a Masonic service will be held at 7 p.m. Funeral service Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Wadsworth United Methodist Church, 195 Broad Street. Rev. James D. Foster and Rev. Carol A Cutting officiating. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Medina County or Wadsworth United Methodist Church Building Fund.
Tex passed away in 1999 from complications of diabetes. His family honors him each year with a post secondary scholarship each spring and his picture hangs in the hallway at WHS next to the wrestling room outside the West Gym. Tex's oldest grandson, Bart Randolph lettered on the 2007 and 2008 WHS Football Team and is also wrestling on the WHS Team at 171 lbs.
